Assistant Teaching Professor

The University of Notre Dame Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeking a physics educator to serve as the instructor of the Modern Physics Laboratory courses and the Introduction to Circuitry and Electronics course for the undergraduate physics majors, and the Methods of Experimental Physics course for the graduate students.

Duties also include maintaining the advanced laboratory equipment in working order, keeping lab manuals up to date, development of new experiments, and maintaining smaller (8”) instructional telescopes.

This is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track faculty position. The anticipated starting rank will be Assistant Teaching Professor, though a higher rank may be negotiated based on prior experience. The expected start date is August 2026.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Notre Dame has 47 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 5 teaching faculty, and another 24 research and concurrent faculty, as well as professors of the practice; more than 100 graduate students; and ~100 undergraduate physics majors.
