One of the research focuses of the Nuclear Chemistry group at the University of Oslo (UiO) is the application of radionuclides for medical applications. This includes studies of novel isotope production pathways for medically relevant radionuclides, and development of high-power nuclear targetry and radiochemistry to support clinical-scale production of these radionuclides.

We are seeking to hire a postdoc into the Nuclear Chemistry group to support the development of 211At and 212Pb production at the University of Oslo, as part of the Norwegian Nuclear Research Centre (NNRC), which is focused on strengthening Norway's research capacity and competence in nuclear science. This project will be conducted in collaboration with NNRC industry partners. Other important collaborators will be IFE (Institutt for energiteknikk) and the University of California—Berkeley, which is an academic partner within the NNRC and a long-standing collaborator of UiO.

We are seeking candidates with a range of backgrounds in Nuclear Chemistry, Nuclear Physics, or Nuclear Engineering, for an exciting and interdisciplinary project in collaboration with the UiO School of Pharmacy and the growing radiopharmaceutical industry. The application deadline has been extended to 19 July 2026, and the link for applying is: https://www.jobbnorge.no/en/available-jobs/job/304660/postdoctoral-research-fellow-in-medical-applications-of-radionuclides-nuclear-chemistry
